Benefits that you don’t know you are entitled to

Private health insurance

Private health insurance could help you cover medical costs that aren’t covered by Medicare. These costs might include physiotherapy, exercise physiology and even gym memberships we offer here at forge.

How much will my health fund cover

Every health fund will cover different amounts depending on your membership. If you visit us, we can swipe your card and let you know how much your fund covers. You can also visit your health fund’s website, here you can find what’s included in your cover.

Can i claim pilates and performance classes with my health fund?

If you are paying for our memberships or buying packs, you may be able to claim this on your health and wellness section in your extras. Most insurers allow cover for gym memberships and other health and wellness activities. You will need to contact your insurer and they can provide you with a form to complete so that this is approved.

Clinical classes and claiming

All classes that are run by a physiotherapist or exercise physiologist can be claimed under your extras. These classes require an initial consultation where an individualised plan is designed to work on your injury, condition and goals.

Have you used up all of your cover?

If you have used your cover for a particular professional, check if you have funding to see someone else. For example, if you have used your exercise physiology cover, you can then see a physiotherapist if you have funds remaining. At Forge, we pride ourselves in having an integrated team, so you will be sure to have a smooth handover to another clinician.

Can i use medicare for some of your services?

Through a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan you will be eligible for rebates. Chronic diseases like arthritis, diabetes, cancer, stroke, musculoskeletal conditions and more. With the coordination of your GP, you may be able to get a plan. Your condition has to be known by your doctor for 6 months or more, please discuss this with your GP.

How much will Medicare cover?

If eligible, every year you will receive 5 medicare sessions to use. This will give you a rebate on Physiotherapy and exercise physiology.
