At Forge Physiotherapy, we offer on-the-spot claiming through HICAPS for most of our services, including Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology and Remedial Massage, making it quick and easy to claim your eligible private health fund rebate at the time of your appointment.
Our Clinical Classes are individually prescribed and supervised by AHPRA-registered Physiotherapists or ESSA-accredited Exercise Physiologists. Because these classes are tailored to your injury, condition or rehabilitation goals, they may be eligible for a private health rebate, depending on your level of cover.
Following the Australian Government’s Private Health Insurance Reform in April 2019, Pilates-based services are no longer eligible for private health rebates, even when delivered by a Physiotherapist or Exercise Physiologist. This includes our Studio Pilates and Hybrid Pilates classes.
However, our Strength & Conditioning, Fit Over 50, and Balance, Bones & Strength classes may be claimable through your private health fund once you have completed an Initial Assessment and the classes have been prescribed as part of your individual treatment plan.
To claim a class through your private health fund, it must be delivered by a clinician whose profession is included in your policy. For example, if your extras cover includes Physiotherapy only, your class must be supervised by a Physiotherapist. If your policy includes Exercise Physiology, you may claim classes supervised by an Exercise Physiologist.
If you’re unsure what your policy covers, we’re happy to help. We can provide a quote through our HICAPS terminal before your appointment so you can see your estimated rebate and any out-of-pocket costs before commencing treatment.
Please note: Private health rebates vary between health funds and individual policies. We recommend checking your level of cover with your insurer if you are unsure of your entitlements.
To claim under Medicare, you will need a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan (GPCCMP). Your condition must be chronic, meaning it has been present for six months or longer, as determined by your GP.
A GPCCMP allows eligible patients to access Medicare rebates for allied health services, typically up to five sessions per calendar year.
We do not offer bulk billing. Your appointment fee is paid in full at the time of your visit via EFTPOS, and the Medicare rebate is processed and returned directly to your bank account, either electronically or via HICAPS.
Our appointments and some classes can be covered by DVA. To claim under DVA, please bring your referral from your GP.
For us to directly bill WorkCover you must bring an approved WorkCover claim number and a current medical certificate from your GP. Please contact our friendly team to find out more.
You must have a claim number to claim under insurance. Please contact your insurance provider to receive a claim number. You are welcome to pay privately while you wait for your claim number (these sessions are typically reimbursed).
