Classes

Performance Classes in West End, Brisbane

Strength, power and conditioning in groups of no more than six, run by physiotherapists, exercise physiologists and strength coaches.

Performance classes are for athletes and active adults who want to get stronger and more resilient with proper programming and supervision — not a generic workout. Group sizes stay at a maximum of six so your technique, alignment and breathing get individual attention.

Who they are for

  • Athletes returning to sport after injury
  • Semi-professional and competitive athletes
  • Active adults wanting structured performance training
  • Clients stepping up from clinical classes to higher-level work

Why train here rather than a gym

Programming is written by clinicians, so an injury history is something we work around rather than something you hide. The studio has reformers, studio Pilates apparatus and full strength equipment, and an assessment is recommended (though not required) before you start.

Six ways to train here

Our team will point you at the right one — ask at reception or on the phone.

Beginner Reformer

A 60-minute full-body introduction to the reformer for anyone new or coming back after a break. Maximum six, with the instructor focused on technique, alignment and comfort.

Studio Pilates

Pilates the original way: equipment-based, highly personalised, precise and controlled. Instructors blend traditional principles with clinical knowledge. Suitable from complete beginner upwards.

Fit Over 50

Built for adults over 50 around bone density, muscle strength and balance, using safe functional exercise scaled to your level.

Balance, Bones & Strength

Stability, coordination, bone health and functional strength through a Pilates-based program using both apparatus and gym tools.

Stretch & Trigger

Gentle stretching, mobility and muscle release using arc barrels, trigger balls, foam rollers and reformers — you leave taller and looser.

Strength & Conditioning

Barbell and gym-based strength work programmed by an exercise physiologist alongside a strength and conditioning coach.

Before you book

What people ask about performance classes

Do I need an assessment before joining?

Not strictly — unlike clinical classes, an initial assessment is recommended rather than required. We strongly suggest one if you have pain or an injury, osteoporosis or a past fracture, trouble with balance or general weakness, or if you are new to exercise and lifting.

Which classes can I claim on private health?

Fit Over 50, Balance, Bones & Strength and Strength & Conditioning may be claimable once you have completed an initial assessment and a clinician has prescribed the class as part of your treatment plan. Pilates-based classes are not claimable by anyone in Australia since the 2019 private health reform.

The current rules are set out in full on the pricing page. Because eligibility depends on your specific policy, ask us for a HICAPS quote before you start rather than assuming either way.

How big are the classes?

A maximum of six clients for most classes. Clinical classes are capped at four, because those are rehabilitation rather than training.

When do they run?

Morning, afternoon and evening across the week — the current class timetable and live availability are in the Pogozo app.

New to Forge

Ten days of unlimited classes for $51

Before you commit to a pack or a membership somewhere else, train with us for ten consecutive days. Reformer Pilates, Studio Pilates, Strength & Conditioning, Stretch & Trigger and Fit Over 50 — all included, in a studio where the biggest class is six people.

Clinical Classes are not part of the trial — they run 4:1 with a physiotherapist or exercise physiologist and need an assessment first.
